  • From Santiago de los Caballeros
    When the starting point is the “Ciudad Corazón”, the route to take is the Duarte Highway in direction to Santo Domingo.
    In the Km 13 you will find the exit to Highway 6 of November crossing San Cristobal and Bani.
    Estimated time of travel is approximately 2 hours with 15 minutes and 146 km in distance.
  • From Jarabacoa
    To reach Ocoa from Jarabacoa there are 2 ways. The first  is a mountainous track stretch that separates Jarabacoa and Constanza de Ocoa , the road is suitable for 4×4 vehicles only by the condition of the road, there is no exact time, but estimates can be 2 hours depending on the weather and time of the year, it is recommended travel  before dusk .
    The second option is to take the Duarte Highway towards Santo Domingo, at kilometer 13 of the highway there is a detour to take November 6 Highway passing the municipalities of San Cristobal and Bani.
    Approximate the  tr time by car is 2 hours 20 minutes and distance 135 kms .
  • From Barahona
    The distance between  Barahona y Ocoa is 168 kms. This route has an estimated duration of 2 hours and 38 minutes.
  • From Santo Domingo
    From Santo Domingo to Ocoa,  there are 104 kms  you can either go through  November 6 Highway or they are 122 kms from the Duarte highway, you have to pass the towns of San Cristobal and Bani.
    This route has an estimated duration of 2 hours.
  • From Puerto Plata
    If you are travelling to San José de Ocoa from the ” Novia del Atlántico”, estimated time of travel is 3 hours and 30 minutes, with a 200 km distance to cover.
    When you exit Puerto Plata you should take the Puerto Plata-Navarrete Highway and then take the Joaquin Balaguer Highway that connects Santiago with Navarrete.
    After arriving to Santiago de los Caballeros, take Duarte Highway towards Santo Domingo, in the Km 13 exit to 6 of November Highway crossing San Cristobal and Bani.
  • From La Romana
    Estimated travel is 3 hours and 223 Km in distance to cover.
  • From Punta Cana
    Estimated time of travel is 3 hours and 39 minutes, covering 249 Kms. Take the Coral Highway to Santo Domingo, proceed to take the route from Santo Domingo.
  • Airway
    If you travel from another country and would like to visit Ocoa, ideally you should travel to the Americas Jose Francisco Peña Gomez Airport (SDQ), located in Punta Caucedo 20 minutes from Santo Domingo.
    In Santo Domingo you take the 6 of Noviembre Highway in direction to San José de Ocoa, estimated time is 2 hours and 30 minutes with 131 Kms distance to cover.
    This route information is specifically for private transportation, if you wish to use public transportation, the bus station is located in the Enriquillo Park in Santo Domingo.
    If you visit from another country, in the airport or surroundings there are several travel agencies where you could rent a car or get a private executive taxi.

  • Take with you Dominican Pesos (cash), some stores do not accept credit cards or other currencies
  • Wear comfortable clothing
  • Be careful with the natural pools
  • The plugs are american models, if by any case, you need an adapter
  • Keep your documents in a safe place
  • Take a first aid kit with you
  • Bring sunblock and mosquito repellent with you
  • If you drink a medication, bring it with you
  • If you don’t talk spanish, take a dictionary
  • Do at least one of the nature trails
  • But the most important thing is to not forget to have fun and enjoy everything Ocoa has to offer
